Entirely shaped by hand, without molds, this teacup is born from a mineral-rich clay, naturally laden with iron oxides. When placed in a wood-fired kiln at more than 1300 °C, the clay meets ash, flame, and oxygen in an unpredictable dialogue. From this alchemy emerges a rare iridescence, golden, coppery, ever-shifting, not applied as glaze, but revealed by fire itself.

The process is demanding, governed by time and chance. Only a handful of pieces survive the intensity of the kiln; fewer still reveal the luminous surface patterns that mark the final selection. Each cup carries its own constellation of traces, never to be repeated.

Peau de Feu is more than a vessel: it is matter transformed by risk, patience, and the invisible logic of fire.

Each piece is crafted in the atelier and dispatched within 7–10 days.

The process is deliberately slow and demanding:

The complete production cycle takes 9 to 12 days, from shaping and slow drying to firing and final selection.
The firing alone lasts 5 continuous days, requiring constant supervision to manage heat and atmospheric flow.
To achieve this golden surface effect, the teacup must be placed in highly volatile zones of the kiln, close to flame and ash deposits.
Out of 100 pieces fired, only 10 to 15% emerge structurally intact, and fewer than 5% develop the aesthetic qualities required for final selection.

Each teacup is thus the result of a highly selective process, combining technical integrity with the rare beauty of naturally formed surface patterns. No two are alike.
